It's an age-old debate: hard-shell taco or soft?
Taco Bell doesn't think you should have to choose. The fast-food chain brought back its Double Decker Taco for a limited time starting Tuesday. For just $2.99, guests can revisit the iconic item, which wraps a bean-filled tortilla around a hard taco shell.
Taco Bell enthusiasts last enjoyed the Double Decker in 2022 when it was chosen over the 1970 Enchirito during an in-app voting contest.
"While the Enchirito made a limited time return, Double Decker Taco fans have continued to voice their craving for the beloved menu item," the food chain said in a news release. "It’s a festive comeback that marks the beginning of a season filled with delicious surprises,"
Guests can also order the Double Decker Taco Supreme, which adds diced tomatoes and reduced-fat sour cream, for $3.69.

Deals for Uber Eats and DoorDash
To celebrate the item's comeback, Taco Bell has limited-time deals for Uber One members and DoorDash customers.
Uber One members can order an exclusive Double Decker Taco Buy One Get One Free deal on the Uber Eats app from Tuesday, Dec. 5 to Sunday, Dec. 10.
DoorDash customers can get $5 off orders $25+ from Tuesday, Dec. 5 to Tuesday, Dec. 12 while DashPass users can receive $8 off.
Double Decker's history
The Double Decker Taco first hit Taco Bell's menu in 1995. It became a permanent menu item in June 2006 and was removed 13 years later.
